Well done to our Feile na nGael Camogie team on reaching the Division 2 Final. However they went under to a stronger Mallow team.
Teams are now being fielded in all competitions at underage level and the future is beginning to look brighter. Report on County Final win courtesy of Evening Echo. Na
Piarsaigh 0-1 Bishopstown 0-0 Never
more that a puck of the ball
between the two teams in a
closely contest Seandun Under11
B final. Na Piarsaigh taking the
titles with the only score of
the game as the appalling
weather conditions failed to
dampen the entusiasm of Na
Piarsaigh and Bishopstown
players. Both teams are to be
complimented on the level of
skill shown while the
determination and entuasim in
quest of ultimate honours was
also very evident. The opening
half saw a fierce battle for
control as both defenses stood
firm. Both teams created plenty
of scoring chances but we had
plenty of wides as both teams
missed chances to take the lead.
With seven minutes remaining in
the opening half Na Piarsaigh
Amy O Connor broke the deadlock
and edged her side ahead with a
point and so it remained at the
half time as they turned over
leading 0-1 to no score. Rain
cascaded down through the second
half but again the young players
were oblivious as they battled
for the title, Bishopstown
continued to enjoy plenty of
possession but the Na Piarsaigh
defense stood their ground time
out of number clearing to
safety. The Bishopstown defense
also had to deal with a lot of
Na Piarsaigh pressure but they
stood tall holding their lines
clearing to safety. Despite
strong pressure from both camp
the second half failed to
produce a score and a the full
time whistle it was Amy O
Connors point which saw Na
Piarsaigh lift the title. NA
